Note: This is an archive video from a year ago. But hopefully this will give you an idea as to who I am. Thank you all for being here :)

Life is my Canvas

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am an artist based out of North Carolina with a B.F.A. Degree in Graphic Design.

As an artist, it is my goal to inspire the future generations of artists to embrace their child-like selves and to go out and create their own world by making their own opportunities. This will excite others to dive in deep and explore their own minds, hold on to their creativity and be who they really are.

Seeing things from a unique perspective leads to changes in attitude… and changes in attitude lead to real progress. Art is essential to society, and without it, the world would be black and white.

I believe that as artists we should be creative and that is simply through just the act of creating. It’s finding new ways to see the world and exploring the ways in which life itself imitates art.

The time to engage is always now.

Ultimately, I want to celebrate our diverse communities of color, gender, sexual orientation, etc. People are art. I hope my art reflects this motive and reminds us to embrace our differences and admire our unique qualities. There is creativity all around us. For me it is sparked by almost anything – the pattern of debris along the side of a road; the sights and sounds at a Waffle House at 2am; a quiet walk in the woods; or a Friday night rerun of an old Bob Ross episode. Whatever the case, my hope is that my work makes the community feel at home and to appreciate all the little things in life.

I am a free spirit and believe in spontaneity as a driving force for creativity.  In addition to pursuing a career as a professional artist, I enjoy listening to ted talks, thrifting, soaking up the sunshine, and indulging in chocolate-covered pretzels.  And in the words of Dr. Suess, “ I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells”.
